Edinburgh is well known as a festival city. Possibly best known for the Edinburgh International Festival which this year runs from 13th August to 5th September. Don't forget the Bank of Scotland Fireworks concert at 9.00pm on Sunday 5th September.

The 2010 Edinburgh Fringe Festival starts on 4th August and runs until 31st August.

This year's Edinburgh Book Festival runs from 14th to 30th August.

The Edinburgh Film Festival is from 16th to 27th June.

From 4th to 26th August 2006 the historic Edinburgh Castle will be home to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Royal Museum (Currently closed - re-opens 2011)
